What do we do?

Wild Voss takes you away from the buzz of your daily routines and into free nature. We want you to take part in our most important goal: to share the joy of travelling safely in free nature.  On our trips you are a participant - not a passenger. Our guides like to share their knowledge and stories. This allows you to get closer to your surroundings and will enrich your experience.

We believe that the richest experiences are to be found in unspoilt nature. This is why most of our trips visit pristine nature scenery, away from roads, houses and groomed tracks. This requires more effort from us all, but it also makes the trips more rewarding.  Participants on our trips will see beautiful nature, learn something fascinating and feel close to nature.

Our guides know the area well, having spent a lot of time pursuing outdoor activities all year round. This is where they feel at home. Their competence and love of the outdoors will ensure a safe trip and a memorable experience for you and your friends.

Guide i Wild Voss Carlos Abraldes Szigriszt

Carlos Abraldes Szigriszt

Carlos comes from the Basque country, in Northern Spain, and grew up between the Atlantic shores and the steep Pyrenean sides. Carlos definitely comes from a ski family.

He first landed in Norway in 2014 for working as a tour guide. After two years working in Chamonix as e-commerce manager for a climbing shop, he came back to the Fjord region of Norway for doing what he does best: Taking you to the soul of our landscapes hiking or on skis.

Fifth year guiding now, and counting. When not on duty, you'll find Carlos climbing granite walls, looking for his next ski alpinism line, surfing cold waters, or doing gear tests and outdoor journalism.

Carlos speaks fluent Spanish, English and Norwegian. He'll speak French and Italian too, if needed.

Carlos has training in avalanche terrain management and avalanche rescue on an advanced level from the Pyrenees.

Wild Voss-guide Jean-Christophe Scouarnec

Jean-Christophe Scouarnec

Jean-Christophe is a French idealist with many dreams in his head. Passionate about nature, culture, traditions and sports, he has travelled and lived in several European countries during the past ten years. Voss has thus far been his longest stop: he arrived here in 2016.

Jean-Christophe has a broad technical background, having studied both engineering and carpentry. He speaks French, German, English and Norwegian fluently.

Most of his leisure time in Voss has been spent exploring the area and learning about local traditions. Jean-Christophe is now fulfilling his present dream: working both as a tradition carpenter and a nature guide.

Jean-Christophe is a certified DNT trip leader for both summer and winter, and part of the local Red Cross mountain rescue team.

Jean-Christophe will be happy to talk to you about the simple pleasures of life, from taking a deep breath in crisp mountain air, to working hard with hand tools to build a nice log cabin!
